Mostly still a mystery, but am leaning towards the fact that these were made in batches or prototypes, replaced when in service in Omega. Tried for an extract but came up blank.
amazing watch and find. . .curious about this though. i think originally omega wouldn't confirm racing dials as factory produced but now do provide extracts. they wouldn't provide an extract for this watch ? i wonder what their record shows for this serial/movement # ?
i thought i read that service dial was the most likely explanation
