The Moonwatch is an icon. This Gemini IV is an absolute looker with crisp white subdials, subtle red accents, and that unmistakable Speedy charm. Running great and came from WatchBox in 2022. No known service history but no issues either.

Total length about 7.75 in, best fit for wrists 7.5 in and under.

This one’s a firesale, Looking for a quick smooth sale. Had some unexpected bills after an accident that need to be paid fast. I wouldn’t sell this if I didn’t have to, to the one who buys it, you’re one lucky bastard 😅

Selling for $3950 shipped in the US. Venmo or PayPal accepted.
All sales final unless misrepresented or lost in transit. Fully insured shipping.
No returns accepted, What you see in the pictures is what you get.

Feedback is on my profile and got a ton on watchuseek, Just request it.

Shouldn't last long, GLWS.

Update: Well, well, another prime example of "if it sounds too good to be true........."

This a fraud, buyer be aware!!! This watch was sold on Reddit last year.

As they say, always buy the seller.

[WTS] Omega Speedmaster Gemini IV 40th Anniversary Limited Ed 3565.80.00
I kinda knew something was off. I inquired about this watch earlier today and he messaged back that he offered it to someone else and then it fell through and he offered it to me. Then his message ended with Michael, but I checked his profile on Watchuseek Sidrox25 and they called him by Sid. Also I wanted to talk to him by phone call, but he kept on making excuses why he was delayed in calling me back. I knew where his general location is in the US by another Watchuseek post, so that was also another way for me to confirm.

So a few things, if it's too good to be true then it may be (unless your a generous well-known OF member), do your own due diligence, and request a phone call with the seller. No matter what, this was a very detailed fraud, even had a picture of today's date and username. But some things didn't add up and I even inquired about this watch to another OF member.

But ATWG was right, buy the seller. And if it doesn't feel good, not matter how good the deal, don't buy it. I want a good history to my watch every time I put it on my wrist. I almost fell for this.

We really need members to report stuff like this if there's even the most minor red flags showing. We're happy to investigate every request that we're aware of.

In private conversations you can report as many of the messages as needed to make them visible to all mods/admins. Please note that it doesn't share the entire conversation to us, only the messages you've picked:

In this case we likely have an established member account where compromised details from another site were leveraged to access it, then they try to cash-in as quickly as possible.

Also ATWG used another tactic that I usually use, but failed to do so with this sale because I was misled by the photo of the username and today's date.

Run a reverse image Google search. It will propagate images of similar or exact photos of the watch for sale being used somewhere else or sold previously, i.e. Reddit/eBay/Watchuseek. Then you can verify if it's the same seller or the sale details that the seller mentions that conflict (i.e. "came from WatchBox in 2022").

People can photoshop or even use AI to alter images so well these days, but something might be off. I almost fell for this scam.

Are people able to use AI to generate time stamp photos? Is that something we'll need to be cautious of in the future?

EDIT: posted at the same time as lucreative.

Also, the claimed to be in the USA but the date format is European

I don't know about altering timestamps on photos. But you can definitely alter images on photos. The piece of paper of username and date on the first picture that was used is not a timestamp (even though it says the date) but an altered image on the photo itself.

I had a PM with him. The references supplied were last updated 5 years ago. Red flag to me. Happy to share with mods if needed.

Honestly, to me the smoking gun was that that it was for sale for so long. I've seen watches this good sell within an hour.

Also, I think what saved me was just to ask for a phone conversation. Not only do you get more verification, you also get to know another OF member and buy the seller.

The 'seller' could have gotten his price instantly from any of the established on line dealers, no fuss no muss. A red flag to me. The price was just too low. When the price or other conditions appear out of normal range I get that hinky feeling. This one was a pretty sophisticated attempt with the dated photo. Fraud abounds, and with AI coming on strong it will probably get worse.

Just to be clear, in this instance is it that an established member’s account was hijacked (or it premature to be definitive)?

My money's on hijacked, last post was over a year ago (post history has several FS which appeared succesful).
