Watch:

Speedmaster Anniversary Series Chronograph 39.7mm First OMEGA in Space, steel on leather strap ref. 311.32.40.30.01.001

Mod:
  • FOIS dial was replaced with Broad Arrow dial (so that the Omega logo actually looks like the 1962 version, and the Ed White)
  • FOIS handset was replaced with Speedmaster professional handset (to fix the problem of the controversial FOIS hands)
The replacement parts are all 100% original Omega parts.

Result:

A modern straight-lug Speedmaster for a fraction of the price of a modern Ed White.

Condition:

The watch is from 2019 (warranty and pictogram cards included). It keeps excellent time. The case shows typical signs of use, no dings.

Price:

$5,300 (updated AUG 22, 2024)

It may be beneficial to update the listing with the adjusted price, for those that don’t scroll past the OP. It still shows the original price, which at the time of writing this is an $800 difference.

Maybe the OP needs to make clear whether the original FOIS dial and hands will come with the watch, in case the new owner wants to return it to its original state. Just a thought.

Wearing my modded FOIS this evening. The best of the mods. Straight lugs and 1861. Perfect combo. glws.
