Happy Friday to All!

I am considering acquiring one of these. I specially like all the complications packed in this watch. I have heard this one is a love or hate object.

I am looking for your honest opinions on things like:
1.- Aesthetics, movement complication, and maintenance.
2.- Current and/or previous ownership observations and comments.
3.- Likes and dislikes.
4.- Photos of currently owned samples.

P.D.: Brutal opinions are welcome too.

The base caliber on this is the valjoux 7751 and there are dozens of models from other brands (Longines, Breitling, etc) that have the exact same functionality as that Speedmaster and you can get them for a substantially lower price. If you want to pay extra for it being the Omega Speedmaster version because you like the looks, it’s a very good, robust watch. But if you just want the chronograph functionality, look at other options and you might find one you like more and can save some money, both to purchase and to service.

I see your point, specially the use of the day-date location at 12 o'clock and similar complications on other brands you mention.

I’ve had one of these and I’ve always enjoyed it. I bought it many years ago.

@Jantar
Nice! Have you wore it on a strap, if so can you add a picture? Does your watch have a snap off or screw down case back?

I’m pretty sure they are all snap backs, I know mine is. I briefly had it in a nato, but prefer the bracelet.

As far as I know ref. 3220.50.00 has screw down case back as seen on the picture below.

Yes, this one is the screw down case back design - this has the 3606, which is the later version of the 7751. The previous version with the Omega 1151's had press on case backs.

I've serviced tons of these - movements are good - solidly built, accurate, and reliable. Note that the Omega versions are different enough that they will sometimes require Omega-specific parts for them, if that's a factor.

I would not hesitate to recommend them to people wanting a solid chronograph.

Apologies, I misread the reference.
I see you are asking about the 40mm.
Mine is the 3520.50.
