Omega Speedmaster Co-Axial - chronograph still running one week after winding

I recently bought a new moon watch pro co-axial straight from the omega website. I wound it, wore it one day, and then put away (apparently with the chronograph still running). I pulled it back out 7 days later and noticed the chronograph was still working even though it clearly quit keeping time when the power reserve “ran out”. And the small-second sub-dial was still running. Very confused because I assumed the watch would completely quit working when the power reserve was exhausted. Has anybody else experienced this?

This is not my understanding of how the watch is supposed to work. So I tried again, 6 days after winding the chrono is still running…. Have not been able to find an explanation for this via google search so thought I would ask here if anybody can help me understand how this is happening.

Thanks!

Let it run out; give it a jiggle and voila, it starts again. But not for long. At least that's my experience.

This👍
The watch had stopped and as soon as the watch was moved it restarted by itself.
As you note, it won't run for very long until the last little bit of power is used up out of the Mainspring or the chrono is stopped to liberate a bit more of the power reserve.

Thank you both. After picking it up a few more times without winding (and chrono stopped) it eventually ran out. I’ve got a manual Nomos that doesn’t do this at all and I was really spinning my wheels.
