My guess is it won't be as sought after as silver snoopy but it will be close to it. I think you made a good choice to preorder.

Coming from you Nima, and after seeing some of your other Omega examples, I think it may indeed be the choice of the modern Omega man.

I don't want to see anything until a wrist shot. :D

    Cheers

I think the Snoopy edition had much more exclusive features, so I don't think this one can repeat its success. And I think the above blog article is somewhat exaggerated. But I like the watch very much still, congrats when you get it.

The only problem with this watch is that it is ugly. Other then that I love it. Lumed bezel, lolipop, panda - awesome stuff.

I would be surprised if it was as popular as the Snoopy. How many Snoopys did they make?

It is all going to come down to the shade of blue in hand. Dark blue , too light a blue

Lollipop and the panda dial sure is nice. The color on the other hand, meh. Should have made it in black or grey. Grey like the GSOM would have been nice.

Not a bad looking Speedy. IMO, the nicest model I've seen from the new collection..

I agree--I initially loved it until I realized it was actually a blue panda :(
    Major deal-breaker.

It really boils my piss that some of the most attractive watches Omega produce are highly limited in number.

This and the 45th are my two favourite Omega models by some distance but it sounds like my chances of getting the 2998 are slim and the 45th aren't that easy to get a hold of.

    Them's the breaks I suppose :(

There were two XI-45 on sale just last week, and they show up from time to time. Still fairly easy to find as far as Speedmaster LEs go.

As to the CK2998, there will be more than 1,000 more of these than the XI-45, so I'll let you come to your own conclusion about availability ;) Besides - you can probably still reserve one at your local Omega Boutique or authorized dealer...

Where did you see the 45s for sale?

I only really look on here or eBay

I'm hoping there isn't a high of a demand. Only because I want.

I think there will be a good chance for these to go on high demand. If you want one don't wait and try to put your name or deposit at your OB or AD if they still take it I don't know, I did mine the very next day after Basel show. Just my thought I could totally be wrong but I see a good potential as for demand on this one.

I'm #4 on the waiting list at my local OB, and it sure will be easier on the pocket book than the white dial ceramic bezel Daytona I'm waiting for.

I can hardly believe that Omega will limit their own opportunity to beat the CK2998 horse by only releasing this one blue version in 2000 units.

I would expect many, many more colours/versions before too long. So to all the speculators out there I would just remind them that in the beginning everybody thought the ceramic cased DSOTM was going to be uber exclusive too, and we all know what happened there, right?

Actually, about 3000 units, 2998 to be exact. DSOTM wasn't released to be limited either.
