Since many years I am a member of this great forum and already was a member of the predecessor forum.
I have decided to sell from my collection some of the early Speedmasters in order to raise funds for a another project 🥰😉

Here is a very rare and collectible Omega Speedmaster CK 2998-2 with tropical dial, BASE 1000 bezel, leaf hands but no box, papers or bracelet (only a worn Cordovan strap 😀 ) The watch has visible signs of wear and tear as can easily be seen on the pictures . However it is in a very attractive and appealing condition with the features that are caracteristic for this reference. The movement is a No.17.xxx.xxx. I did not order an extract of archive as this makes no sense with the early Speedmasters. They were produced at Lemania in Orient, a subcontractor from Omega at that time, from where there are no other records than the delivery date. A verbal information however I received over third party from the museum is, that the watch was delivered to southeast Asia on 21st of november in 1960.

The chrono function of the cal. 321 needs service and the central second hand needs a readjustment. I never gave the watch a away for service over the years since I own it. No guarantee for technical condition.

The price for the watch is 37k EUR.

I tried to take pics in different light conditions and angles. The angle with a direct sun light coming from the front to the stripped dial is without mercy. The second Speedmaster seen on some of the pics is a 145.012-69 and not included in this offer. I took these pics with a younger reference to give you an idea about the colour of the 2998-2 dial.

All pics are taken with iphone7plus. Hope I can afford a better camera one day :-P

2998-2 stepped dial. Rarer than the flat variety. Great package indeed. GLWS!

Mondodec, MSNWatch, Hoipolloi, Ulackfocus, Tire-comedon, most of our Moderators and about a dozen others command immediate attention and consideration of every breath they take in this hobby.
Base 1000 is in this group.
Thanks for sharing all these years and GLWS.

I need to accept that the USD became significantly weaker over the year.
So the new price is 30k EUR obo.
