Omega Speedmaster Black leather Omega box

Hi there,

I just bought a vintage black leather Omega box on Ebay for my 1998 Speedmaster Pro.

I was wondering if anyone can tell/show me how a complete set as bought at the time at an authorised Omega dealer looked like? 3 small white booklets, one big red Omega manual, black leather box and a whit Omega outer carton?

And can anyone tell me during which time period the Speedmaster was sold with this black leather Omega box?

Am I only missing the white outer- Omega carton and the red Operating Instructions manual book?

That looks like the box that came with this...

Booklets don't match though.

I've read somewhere that the black box came with the Speedmaster late '90's

Can not confirm that this box came with all late 90s Speedmasters but it did come with my
reference 3594.50 from ~ 1999 (Special Edition 57 re-issue).

Not quite though 😀 He says "some Speedmasters".

And I'm still wondering what includes the whole set, for example you don't see the big red Omega Operating Instructions book in the pictures, there is no room for it in the leather box, nor in the white carton. Can't imagine an Omega Speedmaster (or Seamaster) without this book.
And which period did they give this box when selling the Speedmaster?

Nice, so that's the Cal.1863. Can you tell me what the whole set looks like? Mine is a 1998 Cal 1861.

It's pretty much the same as yours, and I must add it's holding up a whole lot better than any of my red Omega boxes.

My Speedy Pro from 2000-2001 came with the same case except different booklets I don't think the case is real leather. At least it doesn't fall apart like the red cases.

I suspect that these cases were only supplied with speedmasters so the instructions shown in your photo were the only instruction booklet needed. there was no need to supply the instruction book that covers all omega models like you get these days.

At het back of the big red Instruction manuals, there is this code. What is the logic behind this? What does the code tell me?

@dennisthemenace , still wondering: did they just put the 3 small white booklets and the Omega warranty card in the wallet of the box or was there an extra leather booklet/cardholder to put it all in and then in the box-wallet? Not sure how to put it but hope you understand what I mean 😉

Mine came with the booklets and card in the pocket of the black box. No leather card holder was supplied.
