Has anyone even seen a GREEN dial before on the Speedmaster Automatic?
From what I understand, this is a 3811.70 and was only available in Japan. Is that correct?
    thanks!

No, this is known as the Speedmaster 'Golf' ST 175.0043

It was made in 1995 runs a cal 1155. 300 pieces made for the French market, numbered but not limited edition, caseback engraving Omega Master Cup 93or 94 (PIC 3811.70)

    Quite hard to come by.

I think you will find it went for $871 - Thats £571! It will need a service as the rotor is not working so factor in the cost for that, still cheap though IMHO.

here is a picture of the back side...
DLT222, there is no case back engraving for "... Master Cup" or is that supposed to be on the inside?

You are quite right. My mistake.

As you say though, still pretty cheap.

Unfortunately due to sporting allegiances I cannot wear green anyway so I won't lose too much sleep!:)

It would be on the case back but it seams that the case back might not be original on this piece.

Still a good deal IMO, these are an automatic speedmaster chronograph that is cheap and easy to maintain for a song, I'd have these ones over the reduced any day of the week.

A real Omega chronograph with a good movement for $871 is a lot of watch per dollar.

Replacement case backs do not have this marking, at least as they are shown on the Omega Extranet. This case reference 055ST1750043 is used on 36 different models according to the Extranet, and of course most are not Golf models.

Keep in mind with all the white, green, panda, blue, etc., dials out there, many of these are still available from Omega (including the dial on this one) so it's always possible someone has swapped a dial, and the watch you are looking at is not an original of whatever version you think it might be.

Now going to the eBay auction and seeing the full serial number, this watch is originally a green dial watch, and the model is 38117026.

    Cheers, Al

Brilliant! You're such a great resource AL.

I think it's a go for a nice watch..I would put a black trap on it though. Green on green is a.bit much

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I think it's appropriate given the seller's claim. He says it's a Master's Cup but I see no engraving on the back to support the claim. My guess is that it's a 38117026, like the one above, but I can't see the serial to confirm. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pre-owned-...a=1&pg=2510209&_trksid=p2510209.c100903.m5276Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

    $1900 seems a bit rich, doesn't it?
