Can anybody tell me is the above white dial meant for a certain market only, or it was sold together with the black dial version in all markets ?

How many white dials were made ?

I understand 999 pcs were made in 1995 in black dial for the Apollo XIII series....so this white one really puzzles me...

Will any expert out there pls help and clarify ?

Thanks in advance

The white dial Limited Editions tend to be anniversary watches. I'm not aware of the Apollo 13 patch watches coming with a white dial option - if they exist George will probably know.

I'm aware of a1994 issue 25th anniversary (of the moon landing) which was a chronometer limited to 500 pieces in white gold with white dial, a 1997 white dialled 40th anniversary (of the first Speedmaster in 1957) limited to 500 pieces for the Italian market only & the 2004 panda dialled 35th anniversary (of the moon landing) limited to 3500 pieces.

Maybe you're thinking of one of those ? But judging by this and your other posts this week, it does look like you have very refined taste and are homing in on some particularly rarified collectibles 馃槈

Sorry for bringing this old thread up guys, but I'm almost complete on discovering all white dial speedies ever released (we all have our little ..., don't we?). I think the Omegamania Speedy is the actual watch in the Omega Museum...and here it cones, it is a franken. If you look closely at the big picture at antiquorum, something feels off with the mission patch as it is placed in the subdial...what do you think?

I agree something doesn't seem right....they say the movement serial number is 77020712, but when I looked that serial number up on the Omega Extranet, it's a completely different Speedmaster, a Ref. 38705031:

Cheers, Al

Hi Al,

many thanks, this just further proves the frankenwatch theory. The subial seems to be changed. It may have been a prototype though.
