Hi All, I'm thinking of trading one of my watches in for this model . I really like the look of the Dial & think its quite understated for an anniversary model, that you don't see everyday . The watch comes with full Box & papers etc , Any thoughts or comments greatly appreciated .Its being offered at £3500.00.

Not my favorite of the LE Speedmasters, but it's not my money. For £3,500, it sounds like a reasonable deal.

Just my 2¢

I'm thinking of trading my Tudor black bay steel , I bought it last May but I've hardly worn it . So rather than have it sat in the box not getting worn ,I thought I would look to trade against something that would get some wrist time . And this reference caught my eye as its a little different & I've not seen one previously .

It was my first proper watch. I think the patch looks great, not too shiny, but just a bit nicer than the printed Omega logo. IMHO.

It's a nice looking watch - I would have liked it better without the gold logo, especially with how prominent it is.

Thanks for your positive comments , I think it looks great & again it's not for long term investment it will be for my enjoyment . The appeal is in the dial as it is a little different, Not one for the Speedmaster purists obviously, & I don't really know why as it's still a speedmaster .

Everyone seems to like the seamonster on the back of the watch so I dont understand why most think it looks wrong on the dial. I think that the hue and sheen of the gold is perfect, not blingy or to obvious.

In my honest opinion, you are getting a very good deal. I don’t see the speedmaster loosing value in the long run as long as you keep full box and papers. However it depends what black Bay you are trading. If we are talking of the black Bay black reference 79220N Black bezel, ETA movement with smile dial (self winding inscription), this one was produced in a very small run and it might take value in the long run. If it is any other B.B. model chances are it will not hold value as well as the speedy. In Europe the difference in pricing for a used model in prime shape is €1000 in favor of the speedy right now. So I guess you are getting a nice deal. In the end however, it rests up to you which watch you like most. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your comments whitewolf777, the Tudor I'm thinking of trading is BB steel it's in the picture below .I'm being offered a good price for it & well over the €1000 as you've posted . I'm going to have to think about this now as I really like the Speedmaster , but I've been offered a Rolex 16800 from 1981 & really not sure which I prefer now .

It's a 16800 matte dial from 1981 , And below is the only picture I have of it until Monday . The seller wants £6K for it ,& it seems to be all original . I know you can't tell much from the poor quality picture ,but I've seen it in the flesh & it looks much better . I will post more pictures when I have them .

Tough choice.
I personally would go Rolex. I have about the same Rolex and love it. However I have no idea if the price is right and cannot say anything about the watch being original or not.

You need one of these to go with the watch.

Always wanted one, but have not been able to source one.
