Just picked up an amazing 176.0012 Speedmaster. Most of these have beat up or poorly polished cases. This one has the proper finish and crisp delineations between the finishes. The bracelet also has no wear and great clasp action. It looks like it was sitting in a drawer somewhere for the last 40 years. The amplitude is low and time keeping isn’t great. On inspection the lubrications has dried up. I see no marks on any screws so it seems it hasn’t been touched internally either.
I’ve really taken a liking to these 1045/5100 equipped watches. I’ll detail the movement overhaul process once I have time to get to it. The instructor I’ve been taking classes from worked for Rolex for most of his career, I’ve been learning the finer points of the 1575, 2135 and 3135 from him these past 6 weeks. If people are interested I can post some stuff from that. It will be time to get back to Omega stuff again soon.
