Had some free time so I went down to some of watch shops to browse. Initially I had my eye on a fois, then I tried the speedy pro, and then today I tried to the broad arrow.

I thought its different from my tudor bbb and sla017 with the bezel being silver.

Watch dealer told me the broad arrow is getting hard to find and it's currently under valued. (he's letting it go at 2900 usd box papers 2011 model)

What do u guys do think?

He's making a hard sell as these won't be as valuable after the 60th starts hitting the secondary market.

The 60th corrects everything that was wrong with this model.

It's trying to replicate CK2915, but it's a mishmash of modern Speedy and the CK2915. The right hands and bezel, but wrong case, bracelet, and caseback. The 60th is an almost-perfect replica of CK2915.

The 60th is better in every single way, which is why these will never really climb over $3k (except with inflation), where the 60th will probably hold or increase in value.

Wasn't there one of these on the sales section for around £2300-2400 recently, can't remember exactly?

    Model 3594.50?

There is a school of though that I have seen expressed more than once says that one thing they got right with this model (known as the Replica unfortunately) is that they used modern green/white lume instead of faux aged beige lume and that this feature may mean that it rises slightly in the coat tails of the modern reissue but values aren't showing that so far and look pretty flat at around similar money for a 3570.

Oh and these were made 1997-2003 or so if memory serves so that dealer may have found it at the back of the safe covered in dust!

Would the 60th anniversary cost alot more? Cause I'm trying to work within a budget.

Yeah, I think there's some value to that, but that's really the only flaw with the 60th, and I think resale values will bear that out.

Given the choice between the two, it's pretty clear which is a better overall watch. If personal preference steers you away from faux patina, then the 3594.50 is great. I personally like how patina looks but hate caring for a vintage watch (additional service costs, worry about tritium, etc), so give me the 60th and I'll be happy.

Yeah I saw the warranty card and all, it's 2011. Definitely need to Check.

Honestly for the average Joe, getting the 60th is way above my league. The 57 is alot more affordable in my eyes.

Completely reasonable. Haha but my wallet doesn't have the depth for the 60th

I would take the 60th too as I prefer the purity of the slimline case but if the replica is half the price or less it does make some sense to me.

I would say it's less than half. Probably 35%? Haha

You mean they filled in the warranty card with 2011 when it was last sold. That doesn't mean the watch was made in 2011. I still think it is a lot older than you think.

Oh yes. I remember seeing another date to be 2001.

Thanks I'll have to check it out thoroughly then.

Just got off the phone with the AD. He said the watch date was 2001 (I saw 2011 by mistake)

He says he doesn't know the last service history but he says the 1861 movement is pretty hardy and all. Mmmm

My take on it is more positive than Finks: if you like it, the price isn't bad but like any older watch it may we'll need a service, if they can't prove when it was last done then either put aside $400-600 or negotiate a discount towards this cost.

I think these will eventually become more appreciated and like that other imperfect reissue the FOIS eventually gain a little over the std watch. I dont have one so am pretty impartial but you can tell I like the look as my collection includes this which is similarly unloved in hard core Speedy circles:

Ask him to put the watch on a timeographer and show you the results, that will give you some idea or ask for $300-400 off the price.

If it hasnt been serviced for the past 7 years or so it will need one and may be already showing signs.

Thanks for the advice. I do like it, but I reckon I should take a look before coming back to the broad arrow.
