I thought the black dial model looked good at first, but then I was turned off by the 14.75mm thickness. Even my 2012 FOIS is thinner than that (at 14mm) and some already consider it to be too top heavy. On the plus side, does this mean that Omega could soon be bringing out a Seamaster Professional 300m diver in 38-39mm? Preferably in a thinner case? (Please, pretty please)

This was a tough watch to screw up.
Just take the OG speedmaster and scale it down proportionally. It's not like Omega is some indie company with no engineering or design talent.

Rolex does it perfectly with their 40mm and 38mm watches - their smaller watches look exactly like their bigger counterparts.

So, I was at the AD today, they had one, and I tried it on. Black, no date, just like the submariner that I was wearing. 馃槈

I like it. It fits me well, the height is obvious looking at it, but when you put it on the back nestles in your wrist and the crystal disappears, and it looks right. On my skinny little wrist it works.

I was really tempted, but they wouldn't discount it and I can get it grey for less, and no sales tax.

But do I need another watch? Really?

When I tried it on, the dials on them were nice but reminded me of the watch which didn't lose the 50lb C19 weight gain. Sales guy was like "it'll slip under the cuff nicely" and my reply was "if I get my cuffs altered."

Was also wearing my Ploprof and put them next to each other going "yep, about the same thickness." It throws off the proportions of a 38mm watch being that thick. Imagine if it was a display case back.

And Yes, the answer is always Yes, you need another watch.
