One of my favorites for the 3590.50 and it’s a great value. If I was starting a collection, a Speedmaster 3590.50 would be on my list.

I'm set on a late 70s early 80s 145.022 but finding in good honest condition is proving to be a bear! It is incredible how many 3590.50's there are in amazing condition at incredible prices. Must. Resist.....

It’s a beautiful reference, the majority of the dials have aged amazingly and in my opinion the bracelet is the best of the ones in the Speedmaster collection, if we don’t consider the 1039.

The movement also is very solid and with many available parts.

Some time ago a full full set in great conditions went for sale here for a very reasonable price, I still regret not pulling the trigger

That was probably one of several of my 3590.50’s. I had a couple nice ones that I sold to other members here.

Hi!

Thanks for all the answers. My question was how many 3590.50 that where produced between 1988-1996. According to serial numbers (MWO) around 104 000 watches (+-).

As mentioned above it is a great start for a Speedmaster vintage collection. In my opinion it is a vintage (not a neo) watch some of them are 37 years old and next year all of them ar 30 or more.

One could just collect the ref 3590.50 it came in so many variation. Recently I made a spreadsheet based on following facts,
3590.50 had during its productions:
  • 3 dials (c3, b4 and b4)
  • 4 bezels (b2, b3, b4 and b5)
  • 3 bracelets (1450/1479/1499)
  • 4 case makers (K.B, A.D.B, GR(SA) and LL)
  • 2 861 movements (17/18 j)
  • 2 case backs (short tail and Oblique)

If one combine all the variations, accounting for when the different parts where made (some combinations are not possible) one ends up in 48 different variations of the ref 3590.50. This is of course in theory, empirically I have seen around 24 of these variations.

It is a interesting reference.
