I would prefer a trade (either up or down) but a sale is also ok if that's what you want. This is a 2998-61 with movement serial 1958XXXX, in the correct range for a 2998-61. It's a few serial numbers away from this example sold by the Davidoff Brothers: http://www.db1983.com/our-archive/omega-speedmaster-ck-2998-61-1963 with the same configuration. Dial - The dial is the main reason I fell in love with this example, its vibrant, relatively clean except for some subtle spotting, and confirmed with medical Geiger counter. Hands - The minute and hour hands had lost lume so I asked Simon Freese to reclaim and match the lume. The chrono spear is untouched however and original lume. The subdial hands are congruent in age with the rest. Case - The case is in good vintage condition with even lugs and subtle bevels. There is a small ding along the inside of the bottom lug. Bezel - The DON bezel is in nice shape with even light wear and a subtle fade to gray best seen indirectly. Crown - Correct flat foot crown, not a service unit. Bracelet - The bracelet is 7912 with clasp code dating 1962 and the end links are repro 6s. The bracelet has a few stretch links which are stretched out. Case back - Correct dust cover and case back with well defined hippocampus and marked 2998-61 and with double bevel. Please feel free to ask for any photos or angles you want. Offered at 23,000 USD which includes shipping from my end. In terms of trades, I'm open to both modern and vintage watches. I would most highly be interested in vintage watches that are in excellent condition or modern watches with full box and papers.
Thank you for the kind words and all the trade offers. I'm considering them all, and tomorrow will view some local trade offers that came through in person. Will update the thread if anything finalizes. I've had several asking what I am looking for in a trade. I really am not hunting for anything in particular, but some thoughts have been 5513, 1655/0, 1016, Lange 1, royal oak (and offshore), annual calendar watches, ingeneiur 866, Daytona, and of course other speedmasters you might be trading up or down from. Cheers, Som
