Great story. Much better than the short version. Coincidentally, my mother was born in Germany and left when she was 12 in 1945. Hard not to relate to your patient. Glad your patient had a full life. Also, thank you for your work with the elderly.

Seriously though, ended up coming across this Ck2998-5 around the time you created the thread. Granted, I'm big into NASA and the space race, and know examples like these don't come around often. Can honestly say since it arrived and I worn it, it's the only watch I'd regret selling. There are a few others I own which come close. Those are vintage ones as well.

It's amazing the difference a strap change can make as the original bracelet it came with needs repair, but put it on Komfit one and it works great as well. But the leather one really pairs perfectly, brings out the lume and warmth of the dial.

A quick word of advice. If you are considering a 2998 which is supposedly from the ‘70s: don’t buy it!
