The highest bid right now is USD5,655 (with 3 days 17 hours left).
    It's madness.

The caseback is the best part.

The mid case is quite polished. All the hard parts are missing, all of them, from the movement, dial, hands even the crown is wrong.

It’s like wearing Abraham Lincoln’s stove pipe hat and thinking that makes you Abraham Lincoln.

Can you explain what is grail about this? This watch is at least 10 headaches and two holes in your pockets.

Think he means a 2915-1 in general, is a grail for many collectors as it is the original Speedmaster.

However, you are right. The one on ebay is far from being in a condition sought after by collectors.

I posted it in the hope that somebody from this forum might have a use for a warch in that condition or who has the parts to complete it.

You would need an entire 2915 to complete it. It’s an assembly from someone’s spare parts draw minus a bezel. There is an outside chance the movement is from a 2998 I suppose but judging by the random condition of the rest, just as likely not from a Speedmaster at all.

There's more than 5k in parts here. But the way seller advertised it is sketchy

Finding a completely genuine 2915 might be difficult, nowadays. :(

I believe this victim of one or more prior factory services is worth at least 15k+.

Thinking of what 'part association' could do, this 2915-1 case alone is worth a lot more.
