Looking to buy a Speedmaster 145.022-78 with a movement number in the range 44.188.xxx - 44.822. Need to be prepared to ship to Australia.
    Cheers

You are going to want to look for a 37xxxxxx serial not a 44 which would indicate a 1983 year

Thanks for the heads up, Krinkily.
Though I am a little confused now, as I took those movement numbers from the MWO page 308.
The authors of the MWO indicate that the 145.022-76 wear the serials 37xxxxxx - 39xxxxxx to reference production years 1976-1978/79
For production years 1979 - 1982 (ref.145.022-78) the ref. I am interested, in they claim the serials to be 44xxxxxx - 44xxxxxx.
In regard to the 145.0022 80s (1981 - 1988) they continue these with the serials as 44xxxxxx to 48xxxxxx.

Ok. Am I coming at this all wrong?

    Cheers

As far as I know the references of the 40 mill were starting from 1980 til 1999 when they transitioned to the 77 mill. The 30 Mill started from 1970. This is based on the watches I have sold and seen personally through the years I have been active.
