For sale is an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch ST145.022-71. I think this piece would be a great candidate as an introduction into vintage pieces. The stepped dials are a great subset of vintage that IMO carry a lot of bang for your buck. Reference: 145.022-71 Movement: Cal. 861 Dial: Stepped dial runs through the hour markers and Speedmaster lettering has the long S and R Markers: Great patina (greenish) and there is absolutely no flaking whatsoever Crystal: Hesalite with Omega logo Bezel: Correct large font Tachymetre with plenty of “character” Hands: Beautiful matching patina and no flaming paint Chrono: Correct square end that matches the hands and does not have any flaming paint Pushers/crown: Correct Caseback: Stamped medallion “NASA” back Bracelet: 1171 (matching, but generic end links) Serial #328***** (blocked out for the privacy of the next owner) Please refer to the pictures as the best indication of condition. The photos of the watch were taken by an old iPhone 6 and have not been edited. Below is my best attempt to fully describe the watch. This is a classic watch with honest wear. It is in working order, the chronograph functions as it should, starting / stopping / and resetting to zero. The watch keeps good time and I believe it is in specs, but I don’t have the machine to check. I am unsure of its service history and therefore recommend a service. I am not sure if the case has ever been polished, but if it has been it appears to have retained correct brush lines. The bezel is far from perfect, with bumps and scrapes throughout, particularly between 70-80 on the tachymetre. The case is also not perfect as can be expected of a watch that has been worn for 50 years. Additionally the crystal is not perfect and has some scratches from wear. I would like $4300 PayPal F&F or wire. My asking price is based on my evaluation of the condition of the watch, research into similar examples I have seen, and the Speedmaster 101 chart for a watch somewhere betweeen running and good + the addition of a bracelet. I do have this watch listed elsewhere (for a premium to offset fees associated with the platform).
Saturday bump (drinking fresh grounds & French pressed) I was asked about references, and can provide them on request or you can search my username on the seller profiles.
I have a feeling this one is going to sell today If you want it better come and get it guessing by it’s the cheapest stepped dial with bracelet currently listed.
