Hello all, I am offering for sale today a nice wearable Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69. I bought this from a forum member a few months back. When I received the watch, the chronograph sweep was fairly jittery. I only wound the watch a few times over the past few months as I didn't want to overtax a movement in need of service. I intended to get it serviced and make it a daily wear, but my interest has shifted to other chronographs in recent months. Since this piece hasn't been a priority for me, I'm hoping to pass it along to someone that will make it a priority. I am asking 4200 USD, hopefully giving the buyer ample budget to get it serviced and still be in-line with the Speedmaster101 chart. I will be selling the watch as head only. Dial: Lovely condition step dial. Dial lume is a lovely pale creamy color, not an outright yellow seen on many other speedies. Very slight lume loss at 3 o'clock beyond the step. Bezel: A few pockmarks but it has aged to a lovely blue color Hands: A light color similar to dial lume. Possible the hour and Chrono hands are later replacements. Unfortunately have some paint loss at the base Case: Believe it to be previously polished but case lines are still present. A few small nicks here and there but nothing super noticeable Caseback: Clear and well defined hippocampus with small surface level scratches around the bevel of the caseback Crystal: appears to be non-original but clear of scratches Movement: clean and clear and running well. based on etching, it appears the watch was serviced in 2011, so due for one as mentioned above. I timed the watch relative to the atomic clock over one day and it was +7sec Terms: As mentioned above, my price is 4200 USD and would prefer a US sale at this point. I will accept payment via Paypal F&F or Bank Transfer. If the buyer would like to use G&S, they must pay the fees. Shipping is included and will be by UPS Insured with signature required. Since this is my first potential sale on OF, I would like to go out of my way to make any potential buyer feel more comfortable. I live in the Indianapolis, IN area and can travel to Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville or any other midwestern city within reason if the buyer would prefer a face to face cash transaction. I will also be in NYC next month and could arrange to meet a buyer in person there. Please let me know how I can answer any questions or lessen the uncertainty of buying from a new person here on the forum. Edit: here is my eBay feedback https://ebay.com/usr/taybharr711 Thank you for taking a look!
Bumping this thread as I have had some questions about the hands. I ordered a UV light so I could do some investigating and show the lume more clearly. I also wanted to add some brighter pictures as some of my original pictures were a bit dark. Here the watch is under direct UV light: Here it is immediately after turning off the light (sorry it’s a bit blurry, was difficult to get a crisp one): Here is a shot 30 seconds after the light was off: And here is one minute after: As you can see, the hour and Chrono hands still have a faint glow, so they could be later replacements. I have updated the description above as well. I still believe them to be Tritium but please let me know if I could be wrong on that. As a result of this, I have dropped the price from $4700 to $4500.
Why is this watch still here? If someone is looking for an honesty Speedy from the good years- this is it. Stop hunting for the beaters and scammers on chrono 24 and just buy this one from a respected member.
A few nibbles and one offer but its still here. Potential European buyers, feel free to reach out and we can have a discussion. Obviously, shipping is more expensive and there is the issue of duties, but maybe we can still make a deal!
