Good day!

I have a 145.012-67 that I purchased back in 2013. The deal was brokered by my watchmaker with another client of his.

I didn’t know anything about vintage speedies at the time but I knew I wanted one with a cal 321. I would say I’m not in any position to acquire anymore. At the time, I was able to negotiate to just below MSRP for my 3570.50 at the time : $4400CAD.

There was no bracelet with it, so it was just a matter of picking a strap I like and now it sits on a leather NATO.

One thing I haven’t done was have the knowledgeable folk here at OF take a look.

Right off the bat I know the crown and chrono sweeper are service replacements. After reading and studying other posts regarding lume, this looks to be a re-lume to me although the “patina” indicates to me it’s from a while back.

The pushers I know were replaced but the thing that concerns me is how far they stick out.

the only photo I don’t have is inside the caseback but I remember seeing it and it is 145.012-67 as stated. Unfortunately there is some case opening gouges by less than careful watchmakers or by the original owner at the time. Bezel looks correct and seems correct amount of dings commensurate with age.

Is there anything you can see from the photos? One thing I am bad at is assessing the movement even though this is a rather important part of the hobby. Thoughts?

I can't read the serial, can you post a focused photo, or maybe just mention the serial.

Unfortunately this was photographed in 2013 with a camera from that time. I zoomed what I could but I think it is a 26 million SN.

266? Or 286, or 268 or 298? Am I close?!
I’m having trouble reading it myself truth be told lol.

I asked ChatGPT and no use there either. I think it is a 266 or maybe even 264 if you look at it squinting haha

And regarding your question about the lume, here is an excellent video done by our own Speedyguru @Spacefruit !

I just tripped over this thread.

I like it! Alot. It's a nice looking watch.

I particularly like the dark dial. I haven't seen a lot of these in person but it seems that the 145.012s can have darker dials.

The other thing I like is the case. It looks to be in great condition. Has enough little scratches to wear without worry but also very sharp.

Great companion of 13 years. Be a great companion for another 13.

ChatGPT is a large language model; it isn't capable of intuiting visual information that isn't there🤦‍♂️

I also like this watch. The sweep is drop end which the early ones had, the hands look good and fit watch, and the replacement pushers are the exact same part as the original. So it’s better than you think. And looks great on leather Nato
A very wearable and attractive Speedy IMO cheers to many more years to enjoy

Really is a nice one, dial is attractive. Has everything a vintage speedy could want. Agree the leather nato really pairs well and brings out the character of the warmth of the dial.

That is a lovely watch to wear. Like you, I suspect a relume of the markers. Overall though it's worth more than you paid imo, so a hobby/pleasure with no financial cost. That's a win in my book.
