I just added one of these to my collection. Golly what a monster. Makes a Panerai look weak.
    Some questions for forum members...
The 24 hr marker is red. Never seen one like that. The 18_6 hr top register marker is gloss black. Is this normal?

It is a certified chronometer. Can you get a cert for it from Besancon as I did with my Marine Chronometer?

It came with a black box originally. Can someone post the full package and does anyone have a spare one, booklet etc?!!! Well, if you dont ask....!
This is a keeper but not sure how often I will wear it! It is an impressive bit of kit.

Congrats! I have one as well and it is a surprisingly large slab of steel. The red arrow is normally found on blue-dialed Seamasters and Speedmaster Mark IIIs. Black dialed Speedmasters (Mark III, IV, and 125) typically came with a white/cream colored arrow. Yours also has a non-luminous chrono seconds hand, which may also be a service replacement. The gloss black is normal.

There's a 125 FS on WUS right now with the red arrow. It was recently serviced by Omega so it may have been installed during that treatment.

first congrats for the piece .As Andy K told the 24h marker should be white color and the chrono seconds marker should feature luminous tip .Early production has a encircled progressive number engraved on outer back .Box usually is rettangular red , similar to ref 1515 , but it depends on which country the watch had been to .That 's mine with original warranty and booklet..unfortunatly still looking for a box..

The want is strong for this one!

How does it feel on the wrist - compared to the Mark III for example? :)

IMO 125 feels more solid, chunkier and heavier. Interestingly it stays more comfortable in my wrist compare to my Mark 3.

That is interesting - I was struggling to make the Mark III fit properly, but dropping a link out, and tweaking the pin in the clasp has made it right.

The way the 125 bracelet curves looks like it might be more comfortable than the thinner bracelet on the MK III (and the weight it's restraining!).

Will be keeping an eye out for a 125 now. :)

I've only briefly tried on a Mark III so I can't compare, but the 125's bracelet is very comfortable and feels much more modern than most 1970s bracelets. It makes the watch much more wearable than you'd think just by looking at it.

Having an almost 18 cm wrist can confirm that 125 is more comfortable than appeares but i really feel the weight (should be more than 320 gr.) and my preference would go to Mark III as daily watch

Wow, more than 320 grams! Almost like wearing a 12 oz Coke can on your wrist!

Nice watch. I have seen some nice ones passing by on eBay but I have always passed the 125 because it looks so uncomfortable chunky and large. But I like the applied logo and 125 text. Goof luck with the watch!

I think at least two factors in play here. First as you suspect is the bracelet. Mark 3 thin bracelet is not suitable to handle big case. Second the height of the case. Mark 3 sits at least 3mm higher than 125.

I just dropped it off at my watch man to get the chrono second hand changed and picked up my Mk3 from him so can make direct comparison!
125 is v heavy but does sit on wrist fine thanks to bracelet which is a bit of a hair-grabber.
Mk3 is much higher but so much lighter compared to 125. Very different styles and feels.
Not sure I could wear either every day. 125 makes a big impression. My watchman loved it. He says the Mk3 is a marmite watch. A reference that will be lost on our American cousins!!!

Ok, 180 grams makes much more sense. Still not light.
