Hi, I have decided to slowly reduce my collection of wrist watches in favor of purchasing (further) pocket watches. So, you will see a few wristwatches for sale in the the next months.

Here is a Omega Speedmaster 125 Chronograph. The watch is working nicely, all functions without problems, but it did not recently receive a service, so that I would recommend a service, if it is to be used more or less frequently.

I want to emphasize that one detail needs to be discussed. The base plate has a caliber stamp 1040, whereas one would expect a caliber 1041. On the other hand the automatic bridge and the rotor are marked as one would expect it for a 1041. So, it might be that the base plate has been replaced by the technically identical 1040 base plate. Or, that at least some 125 had been made originally with a 1040 base plate. I may note that I have seen two other 125 also stamped 1040 on the base plate, so that either the latter assumption is valid, or an exchange of the base plate 1041 > 1040 was done more or less frequently for what ever reason. The extract from the archives does not provide any additional information. Anyway, interested persons should assume that in case of my watch the 1040 base plate is a replacement.

The dial and hands are in a nice condition, crystal and case show clear signs of wear.

This is a private sale, no return except of gross misrepresentation, no garantee or warranty of any kind. Postage shall be paid by the buyer and depends on the destination and will in any case be by registered mail (Germany 6,99 €, other countries please inquire). I will charge the actual official postage only, without any additional charges for packing etc.

The watch is located in Germany, so that EU residents will not have to pay any import duties. EU foreigners should take into account the local tax legislation for import.

My asking price is 1.950,-- €, or the equivalent in other currencies. I prefer payment via Paypal (Business) and will absorb the respective fees.

Thank you to OF for the allowance of presentation.

Upon request I have added a few photos, in particular of the logo from different angles (reflecting and not reflecting). These photos also elaborate the scratches in the crystal, which normally are visible only in certain angles and under close inspection.

I do not know why the braclett photos appear distorted, but the braclett ref. still seems legible. It should be correct for the 125. It fits a wrist of about 20 cm maximum.

The automatic also works fine, as evidenced by the watch running after having carried it unwound (and not running initially) to the office in my jacket pocket. Both chronograph hands return exactly to "12" upon reset.

One "issue" remains to be reported, the crown unwinds from the stem, if the hands are to be reversed. Anyway, when setting this should only be done forward only, so this might be rendered as a "security feature". If not, it is no effort to fix the crown on the winding stem.

No box or papers, except of the Extract of the Archives.

    Cheers, Bernhard
