Just wanted to share a few pictures of a Speedmaster i just purchased. I had been looking for a clean example of a 65 that i could wear for a while (funds permitting) and this is the one i got.

It is all original except for the crown and pushers which are service ones. Serial number is 245360xx

Looks like someone polished the back to remove a custom engraving, which is unfortunate because the case looks quite sharp otherwise. Other than that, the only thing that jumps out at me is the lume, but it probably looks totally fine on the wrist. 👍

I polished it. There was SEB 12100039-003 inscribed on it, since i had no idea what it was and i dont like personnel stuff inscribed on my watches it had to go.

Your watch, your choice. But there are better ways to handle something like that, IMO. That caseback is ruined now.

First off, Congrats on the buy!

However, I agree with Dan. You could of even spent a little bit getting it professionally removed.

In my experience, you may have lowered the value of the actual watch by $1k+ and reduced marketability significantly if you ever choose to sell it

SEB121xxxxxxxx looks like a NASA drawing #. Probably would have wise to do some more research before removing it.

Nice watch. How hard is it to find a set of short/fat pushers?

Nice troll with the SEB121xxx

Congratulations on a really nice looking watch. Not only that, you nailed the Apollo XI moon watch. Nothing better, LEs, gold, Snoopys included. Enjoy it every day.

It would be interesting to see if the engraving could be pulled up the way they do with gun serial numbers? Just in case it was something significant.
