I have decided to sell one of my own personal watches, an “Ed White” 105.003-65 with blue/grey Ghost DON Bezel. Serial: 24.06X.XXX

The Dial: Excellent condition with no significant scratches or chips. Minimal Lume degradation on one of the dots at 12 o’clock and a tiny bit on the 5 o’clock marker.
All lume plots still glow briefly when exposed to light and are a dirty custard yellow.
There is some dust in the photos that I will ask my watchmaker to remove before shipping.

The Hands: These are the original hands that came with the watch. The lume on the hour and minute hands have turned a slightly more greenish hue and some of the lume on the minute hand has fallen out. The second hand has lume that more closely matches the dial plots. All hands still glow briefly when exposed to light.

The Case:
To my eyes and in my opinion, this case has never been polished. The sharp lines on the lug tips are flat and square and the satin horizontal finish on both sides of the case are still visible. The shiny top of the lugs and bottom of the case back are consistent with a watch that has been worn and “polished” by shirt sleeves and against the skin on the wrist. The watch has been worn, but never polished on any wheel. An excellent, untouched, original example of what a 55 year old case should look like. NOT refinished.

The Case Back: The hippocampus on the back of the case back is clearly visible and not overly worn. The case back threads are smooth and thread easily on and off of the midcase by hand. The engravings on the inside read 105.003-65. This is one of the less common and mysterious cases, not one of the more common HF cases. I am uncertain if it has ever been determined who manufactured these cases, but it is 100% genuine and original Omega. See manufacturer stamp on inside case back. Also, some hand engravings from services over the life of the watch. Very cool to see..

The Bezel: As of late, these DON bezels alone have been commanding thousands of dollars. This Original "DON" (Dot Over Ninety) TACHYMETRE bezel is not only in perfect condition with no major chips or scratches, it has also uniformly faded to a grey/blue Ghost color. This bezel is just spectacular in person and nearly flawless.

The Bracelet: Genuine Omega 1035 bracelet with 6 end links. I am unsure if the end links are original which is my only question on the entire watch. Bracelet is dated 1/68 which is dead on consistent with the Archive delivery in January of 1968. Even though the case back and reference indicate a 1965 stamping, the 105.003 was manufactured all the way through 1969. The bracelet is in excellent shape with nearly no stretch or play. Mint!

The Movement:
This 321 movement was just serviced and running very strong. New Genuine Omega Mainspring. Timing sheet can be printed to show buyer accuracy. 24,06X,XXX is original and correct for 105.003, archive confirms this. The Original crystal will be provided along with the new Genuine Omega crystal just installed on watch. Crystal was replaced to improve pressure and water resistance and being new has better clarity to show off the flawless dial surface.

The Crown and Pushers: This watch has the original Flat Foot Crown and factory original pushers. No service parts here, these are the same parts that the watch shipped with 55 years ago and they look and function perfectly.

The Extract: So many franken Speedies floating around today with Seamaster movements or parts from different years. I waited to get this extract before listing the watch for sale to show that it is a 100% genuine Ed White 105.003 movement and not one from some other reference. You don’t need to check any charts to see if the movement is correct or falls into the right range. Omega has shown definitively that this movement is from a 105.003 Speedmaster and this watch is original.

Price:
$18,500 USD includes fully insured Fedex Shipping Worldwide.
Bank wire or local pick up. No Paypal and No Trades on this piece.

I haven’t seen a nicer Ed White listed for sale in a long time. Watch is priced more than fair for its condition and quality and its authenticity is substantiated by the Omega Museum with Extract of Archive.

No refunds unless the item you receive is different from the item in the photos. If you require any more photos to help you determine anything, please contact me and I will provide you with anything you need.
