Evening all It is a bit of a heavy heart moment but I have just procured a new Chronograph from 1937 which is going to need a lot of work and probably going to have to go back to Bienne so in expectation of an horrendous bill I am offering up for sale one of my Speedy 105.003's The watch was subject to a full Bienne restoration last year and comes with over 18 months Omega warranty remaining along with the extract of archive confirming the watch was delivered to the Navy, Army and Air Force institute and was produced 31st of Jan 1966, so it's got a great history behind it. The watch was been worn by my wife Esther for special occasions but she's now taken to wearing one of my 2998's and as such this has sadly gone unworn in over 3 months so it is a logical cull for me. The watch was subject to a complete overhaul and comes with all the old parts, however I specifically instructed no new bezels or dials or hands etc, the watch has had a great history and I wanted to retain it! The watch is on what I believe is the original BCT (although date stamped to 68) and with the number 6 end links intact. Here is a link to the original piece I wrote on it http://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-speedmaster-105-003-65-back-from-bienne.17322/ 105.003's seem to have gone wild of late and with the great history and military background as well as knowing this is one of those watches that has been fully sorted and comes with a two year Omega warranty but has retained all of its original character I am hoping people will see it as a great investment opportunity I am looking for £3950 shipped postage via RMSD (max insurance £2500) or International Signed for (max insurance £500), happy to ship FEDEX or other courier at buyers cost. Payment via BT or PP (gift or you cover fees)
Thanks DLT222, I have posted quite a few watches RMSD and they always ask me whats inside, I am always honest and say an old wristwatch and they never question it or say they cannot insure it, I will check with Royal Mail tomorrow at the post office but having checked on line I can't find anything in their terms and conditions to say RMSD doesn't cover watches, in fact they specify you should ship 'jewellery' RMSD to be insured: http://www.royalmail.com/personal/help-and-support/royal-mails-retail-compensation-policy-for-loss Also nothing in insurance exclusions in the RMSD guidelines http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/RM_SpecialDelivery_Terms_Jan13_4.pdf Also nothing in their insurance guides online: I know swatch group (omega), Rolex and STS all use special delivery also Cheers Tom
Sorry chaps, remiss of me but I should have also mentioned the watch is boxed with original inner and out box and NOS hang tag
Wow, what a nice kit. How often do you see the original boxes, too! Congrats to you and your buyer. I hope we get to see this one again, sometime!
Congratulations to both parties. If only I wasn't trying to put the money together to buy one of my "A" list watches, I'd have bitten your hand off for this one Tom.
Tricky, John! Saw this listing again on WatchRecon and got excited it might be available again... Only to realize the comments get forwarded to WatchRecon... And before I could get disappointed I realized.... I HAVE NO SPEEDMASTER MONEY! (yet...)
