All, I recently purchased a 1968 Omega Speedmaster. Unfortunately the previous owner had a larger wrist than I do, and even by using all of the adjusting pins, the 1039 bracelet is about 2 sections per side too large. My local jeweler, a much better than average watch and clock shop, is stumped. There do not appear to be any pins to allow that removing of individual sections.

Does anyone know how a 1039 bracelet can be adjusted smaller?

    Thanks,

That's a better problem to have than mine! My grandfather's wrist was smaller than mine apparently - I'm still looking for 1039 links!

There's a guy on eBay who's selling 1039 links one at a time for around $62 + shipping. HerePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network.

Are those "good"? I saw them, but the "sprung" term gave me pause.

I bought one; they're good. "Sprung" got me too, but I think it has two meanings: sprung as in a spring sticking out of a ruined mattress, and sprung as in "containing a spring."
