Greetings Good people,

Bought my first ever SMP 300 diver about 2 months ago from Jomashop,NY. Even though I'm very very disappointed and disgusted about the experience I had with Jomashop upon purchase, I like this watch to pieces.

Now to my question, I've read/watched that the brand new watches of this line should have a red dot on the back which signifies the fact that back case has never been opened. Unfortunately mine doesn't have that. 馃檨 Does this mean that I've been screwed up by Joma? I must mention though I did not find any flows with the packaging. They've installed those films over the bezel, bracelet, and the backside of the watch. Hope it was by Omega not by Joma, but im seriously not sure given my experience with Joma.

Further the watch did not come in that typical red Omega box but in a much nicer and fancier wooden box which I really didn't want. I've attached a pic of the box as well here(Not of mine, pulled out from the internet) The other pic is really me..

On a slightly positive note though I've read that Omega doesn't do this practice anymore that is placing the red dot.

Please can you share your opinions about the dot and the wooden box ? Sad that I cant rest my mind having spent all that money.

/Bindo

I'll swap my red box for your wooden one if bothers you. 馃槈

Seriously though...you have no concerns on either front. Enjoy the watch and wear it well.

hello there,

As you mentioned Omega stopped putting the red dot on the SMP diver some time ago and the wooden box is a new box for almost all new Omega watches(apart from Limited Editions and some special ones like Speedmaster Pro). I think you are good 馃榾

You do NOT want the wooden box?!

That's a first!

To put you at easy, nothing you've experienced are out of the ordinary. Can't for the life of me understand that you are "very very disappointed and disgusted about the experience..." Disgusted? Really?? What has happened?

Why don't you want the wooden box? Looks much nicer than the red one IMHO.

As for the red dot, I have also heard that they no longer do that, but you're best calling an Omega boutique and getting it straight from the source.

What happened with the Jomashop sale? Usually they have a pretty good reputation.

Many of the red boxes start to self destruct after a few years, I'd much rather have a wood box.

If the absence of the red dot (Omega stopped using it in 2014) and the red faux leather box (also out of production since 2014) made you feel "very, very disappointed and disgusted" I suggest you try another brand and store since neither will be able to fulfill your wishes. An alternative would be buying a 2-3 year old watch delivered with the red box and dot intact.

Just to clarify, is the red dot not being used just on the SMP or all Omega watches?
I just bought a Legendary speedy this year and it has the red dot.

Could be old stock or a watch that was cased a while back but not shipped to the point of sale until later.

Yes it may be the case. So no more red dot on any Omega watches?

Correct - nor blue dots after service...
