    Hello,

I am on a Hunt for an Omega seamaster professional 2254.5, and in that Hunt i have noticed a difference when it comes to the lume on the watch. How Come the lume seems a bit more "shiny" on some watches, and Matt on others?

    Thank you!

It's quite possible the early models had tritium lume instead of the safer lume of modern Omegas

it's just the lighting. I've got one, I could let it go for the right price. this watch has great lume and it also looks different depending on if it is 'charged' with light or not - I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Here are some pics. I think that the 2254.50 is definitely the best looking of its generation/class.

you can even see in the pic with my 3 omegas that the lume between my blue and black SMP look different. I assure you that in real life they look nearly identical. It is simply lighting and what happens when different cameras and exposures take pictures of the same watch.

Would you consider the shiny lume for genuine omega lume?

HAHAHA that is KRLYUZH. He is 100% legit, I'd buy anything from him. Here's a guide to the fakes of this watch:

KRLYUZH's watches are more expensive but you can count on him to deliver and be honest.

This is my 2054.50 (bond bracelet) from 03. It does have more of a green tint compared to later watches ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412043442.181449.jpg

Thanks.... You must have an F30 or be a BMW guy to pick up on that blurry shot of the wheel in the background :)

Only thing I am more passionate about than Omega...
    I don't currently own a F30 but a good friend of mine has a 328.
    I sometimes drive a M3.

If they started production in the early nineties there's a good chance it's Tritrium and it won't be marked "T" on the dial

The 2254 was produced after 2000. Superluminova was used starting around 1997 or 1998 give or take a year.

Ok I will accept that I thought these came out at the same time as the Bond smp.

The 2254 is the fifth generation SM. The 2531.80 is a third generation SM and it began production in 1993.
