    Hi lads.
I’ve got an old Seamaster, but somewhere, somehow the hands and bezel were altered.
I’m espescially concerned with the bezel, as they seem non existing on EBay and watch forums.
So I need your skilled opinion on what to do. Is it possible to rescue, or should I just buy new hands and stick with it.
    FYI, I’m located in Denmark.
    All help is appreciated
Sorry for the quality of the pictures, but I guess you get the idea.
    Last one is for reference..

I would move it on and look for a more original example, if you really like that particular design.

If you want to wear it, send it to Omega for servicing and get new dial, hands, and bezel.

What the cr*** happened to that bezel? It looks like melted by an a special deathray from an extraterrestrial force :D

The bezel should look like this

    IMG-20161207-WA0008_resized.jpeg

and I can't believe that the area under the acrylic part of the bezel looks like what you have there.

To my humble opinion it is always worth researching for a proper original even if it's going to take significant time. Wonder here if the bezels from the other Baby Ploprofs would fit your case.

Can't help here since the bezels are very rare out there in the wild but keep my fingers crossed that you find one.

    Best,

    Winny

I didn’t know you could do that on discontinued watches, but worth giving it a try.

Yeah, hurts my eyes every time I look at it. I’m not sure if (like you mention) other baby ploprofs fit, but if they do, chances for finding one are much better.

    Blacklight,

Someday back in better times I've read an article of a guy who has made an restoration on such a bezel including printing the inner part refilling it with a special coloured luminova and also the making of the acrylic cover on it.

But unfortunately can't remember where to find (was in a forums).

Will try to find it and keep you posted on it.

Omega does not have bezels, as they are discontinued.

You may be thinking of Aldo, but I believe he only does early SM 300s.

    Google "Aldo bezel".

Would this not fall under "if we do not have the part we will manufacture it"? I suppose it might cost more than a person would want for a randomly-sourced watch.

Omega doesn’t really do this...you need to go up the watch brand food chain for that sort of service...

I’m awaiting an email from aldo in Italy, and in the mean time it’s been send to Omega Switzerland. The watch mechanical from Klarlund in Copenhagen didn’t know if Omega could help, but we agreed that we might as well try our luck.
It will at least be 3-4 week before I can expect an answer, but I’ll let you know.
Until then, have a nice weekend, and thanks for the support so far.
    Best,
    Aleksandar

Again -thanks Winny, I appreciate it!
I got to read up on by German gramma books from elementary school, but that might be the best solution at the moment. I havn’t read the thread, as my daughter was born today, so my focus has been elsewhere, but I’ll def. give it a try. Happy to see, that there might be a solution after all.
    Cheers
