Love this but slightly flummoxed ! 38....... under the dial which would suggest an early 1910 movement but the case is later I believe. Did the jewellers buy old movements and pop them in. Notice no Omega branding on the face either. Great size at 35.5mm and large lugs, 18mm. A slight mystery. What are your thoughts.

Jon

My thoughts on this.

The case by Dennison doesn't look like the usual conversions where lugs/loops are simply soldered on, the crown/stem is missing the part where a Lépine bow would attach so it looks to me to be an original wrist watch case. The hallmarks date the case to 1934 (assay date).

I think it's a mixture of an original wrist watch that had a damaged "Savonette" movement/dial.

This has been replaced with an older Lépine movement and dial from a watchmakers "stash" which may have been done for economical reasons.
