I am in New York for another month and am deliberating on the possbility of getting some on my vintage Omegas serviced here in Manhattan or wait until I get back to Cambridge and use a UK person. Any thoughts, recommendations, etc. What is the cost approx of an 861 and 1045 service now.

 

For both my 861 and 1045, Omega repair shop in Toronto estimated $700 plus optional parts like hands, dial. That's direct Omega though.

One thing to consider is that turn around - at least here - is 6-8 weeks. Not sure what the implications would be if you have to have them shipped back to you in UK... import taxes?

 

My cousin does great work on 47th Street in Manhattan. If you send me a PM, I can put you in contact with him. He doesn't charge an arm and a leg either. His father is the master watch mechanic who works on all my vintage rolex.
