Keeping with my Chronograph theme at the moment I am offering up something which I feel is hugely under appreciated at the moment but equally as special as the Speedmasters.
This is a Seamaster chronograph from 1966/67, running off the famous cal 321 movement made famous by its use in the Speedmaster series or Moon watch. Every one knows what has happened to the price of Speedmasters over recent years and that rise can only build as we head towards the 50th anniversary of the moon landings. Yet these Seamasters remain very good value for money - how long that lasts is anyone’s guess.
The watch was sourced for my by @Tom Dick, he found it locally to him and bought it from the family of the original owner, the back story was that it was found it in a tobacco tin in the wardrobe but couldn't remember him ever wearing it as he wore a ‘digital’ watch for most of what she could recall.
I must admit this story does chime as the watch is absolutely remarkable condition, the case is totally untouched and sharp as a knife with only the lightest of wear marks. There is a small stain on the dial as visible between 2 and 3 but I am comfortable in saying the watch is 100% original. When I took ownership of the watch it was head only, I have fitted is a nos period corfam with period omega buckle (the buckle is not pictured but correct to the period)
For complete peace of mind I am pleased to report that the piece has recently been fully serviced by UK vintage Omega specialist Simon Freese and so is fully guaranteed for 18 months. Simon commented that it was one of the nicest watches he has worked on recently and was a ‘real cracker’
This is a remarkable watch and in my humble opinion represents excellent value when compared to its brethren. As with all my watch and my listings I aim to supply the right quality at the right price.
