That watch is not from 1951.

And it's impossible to put a value on it if you do not know what it is. You'll ned to provide more information, Vintage Omega Posting Guide

You'll need to get a watchmaker to open it up - from there you get two bits of information:

1 - The serial number from the movement, which will tell you roughly the year it was produced.

2 - The reference, or model number, which will tell you what it is and make it possible for you to search eBay for sold prices.

No, I don't, but watches didn't look like that in the beginning of the 50ties.
You'll need to do as tyrantlizardrex writes, do some research and then get back here with what you learned. Help us help you.

My guess is that the watch is from the early to mid-1960's. The "T" (for tritium luminous material) after the words Swiss Made on the bottom of the dial wasn't used until around 1963. Probably a caliber 550 or 552 movement inside. Both are very good Omega automatic movements.

Crown doesn't look correct, nor do I think the bracelet is original to the watch.

It is not a particularly high-value item. Maybe $300 or so, depending on the condition of the movement.

Cost to service would be close to its value, but as a family piece, that should not be important.;)

    Hope this helps,

    "Automatic" on the dial.

Don't worry. I've made that mistake many times.

Mid 60s, either a 552 or a 550. Crown replaced during service some time but otherwise looks ok. The bracelet looks more interesting than the watch!
