Hi! I'm a newbie when it comes to watches but I've been hard at work trying to scout for a nice dress watch.

Attached below are photos of a watch I'm looking to purchase. Seller has exceptional feedbacks.

The case number on the watch is 1960080, and has a 1342 movement with 7 jewels.

Across with crown: 37mm Thickness: 9mm. Lug to lug 41mm. Lug width: 20mm

Ive been searching the entire net and can't get any reference to this watch.
I'd be grateful if anyone could share insight about this watch and mainly if its a genuine, non-frankenstein omega.

    Thank you !
    Regards

I don't know why the jewel count differs and that crown needs replacing.

Strange cause the face of the watch looks slightly different. The quartz wording is way up .
@ahsposo thanks for pulling this up mate !

Cal. 1342 came in both 7 and 13 jewel versions...

Why do you say the crown needs replacing?

I'm guessing, based on the discoloration or wear seen in the 1st and 5th photos.

Looks to me like the end cap is worn down to the core. I guess it's still functional but it looks kind of fugly to me.

    That's not discolouration or wear.

This movement does not hack in the traditional manner when you pull the crown out to set the time. To sync the time to a known standard you use a stylus to depress the button that is in the center of the crown. Quick pushing of said button will advance the second hand by a second for each push, or if you push and hold the seconds hand will stop.

Also, if you push the button in and hold for 5 seconds, then release and quickly push it back in, the minute hand will rapid advance.

There is nothing wrong with the crown.

    Cheers, Al

by far the best place to learn !

So do you guys reckon it's a safe buy? Im not really expecting it to keep resale value but more as my first vintage watch :)

Worth buying if you like it, no vintage watch is a safe buy until it's on your wrist.

Don't pay crazy money as the can be picked up quiet cheap at times.
