Omega Seamaster TV dial from the 80s

Hi all
I'm new to omega watches, so bear with me.
I stumbled upon a beautiful Omega Seamaster with a TV dial, supposedly from the 80s.
As of now, I only have these pictures and the ref. the seller has given me, which is: ST.1331.315
I haven't had the watch in my hand, sellers asking price is 850USD.

Unfortunately, I'm already unsure about its authenticity. I can't seem to make sense of the ref. number when looking at the Omega MAPIC system, and I can find very little information about Omega watches with TV dials.

So my questions are: Should I be worried about the authenticity based on the pictures and ref. number? What can I check up on to ease my mind?

Cheers, Steven

If one was going to get a quartz omega, this would probably be a good place to start.

As others will say read the "learn how to fish" pinned thread. That will indicate what tells to look for. IMO the dial is the critical thing. This is the hardest part to replicate. If you have watchmaker open it, the movement and inside case back will also have information. Most of the online sources relate to vintage or modern mechanical. These watches were only sold for a few years before the movements were spun off as swatch.

On the whole this to me looks legit. The price can also be a tell. This type of watch will sell for a fraction of what a mechanical watch will fetch.

Look on ebay sales for quartz omegas. This watch looks nice but I would never pay that much when you could get a nice mechanical for less.

If I were in you I'll look for a mechanical TV dial instead, but...

I would say, and if I'm wrong please someone correct me, that there is a very small chance that a TV Dial Omega is a counterfeit piece. Can be a frankenstein or in a terrible state but I would doubt that there are fake 80s quartz TV Omega...

To me, it looks pretty much to be a NOS (new old stock) as the violett OEM sealing is still on the caseback. Only point here to me - is the movement running accurately and if the date change works properly.

No shame to look at quartz watches esp. from Omega, there are some stunning pieces among them, greetings from some of mine:

And if you're around for a market sounding search at ebay for "Omega NOS", there should be some to find
