Hi everyone,

I am planning on buying this watch in the next few days. Seller claims it is all original. I noticed that the hour and minute hands lume differs from that of the dial on the hour markers.

Can you please help me with the following?

1- condition of case
2- originality of dial and hands

I am oaying 3800 usd for this watch.

Thanks a lot! See pictures below

Hi!

Good shout on the hands. Even though the lume colour difference between dial and hands isn’t always an indication, in this instance the hands aren’t right. Almost certainly coming from a younger Omega than this 321.

Other than that, the watch looks pretty good. It has certainly seen work and not always by a very skilled WM (look at the scratched screw heads) and it’s seen a polish or two too. All in all above average, but not great.

Consider it in need of a service. Hairspring does not look ok

The movement might be a transplant. I would expect it to have an asymmetrical clutch bridge. And the serial number should definitely be in the 20m range (around 22m). The serial on the photo starts with a 10, that isn't right for a 105.005.

Some of the stamping doesn't look right either, the L on the JEWELS being missing might just be the photo, but it looks quite different to mine (movement starts 13.8 on mine, so a bit later - about 1951 I think).

Also there's a thread here about early 321 movements, according to this the earliest copper ones should start at 12.49

agree with the points on the movement. I'd agree on your valuation if everything had checked out
