    Hey guys,

I'm considering this Seamaster Calendar 503(?). But I have doubts about it, specifically the Omega font (doesn't look as crisp as other examples?) and the number markers looking a little wonky. Im also not sure about the lugs and case, if they've been polished. Everything seems original except for the strap, right? Seller is asking for approx USD 680. Looking forward to hearing from our members. Thanks!

I'd have to see a better close-up of the dial (esp. the OMEGA/Automatic text), but it could well be original. The heavy dial patina is very typical on these, most you see for sale have either refinished or very damaged dials. The case condition could be better, but it doesn't look worn down. Here's one I sold earlier this year: https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-seamaster-calendar-2849-8.37307/

If your last photo was in focus, that would seem to provide the most information (hint). Based on the others, I think it's okay.

I too feel that it's alright however I do find the AUTOMATIC and CALENDAR letters to be a little uneven, but maybe it's just paranoia kicking in... This one bellow seems to have letters that are more crisp but that doesn't prove that one is genuine and one isn't since various things such as camer angles, patina, etc. can influence these things.

I too believe that it's original, but a good close-up could still change my mind ;)

If it is a redial, it would have to an older one, since the lume has degraded and the dial has contracted measles... The price isn't out of line, IMO, but I would aim for a price around $100-150 less. As mentioned, decent examples of these are pretty far between.

Interesting comparison between the 2 watches shown. Top example looks correct to me from the type of writing I have seen. But I have always wondered about the Seamaster script on these watches. Please note that while I believe them to be correct, the first Seamaster has a 3 hump M whilst the 2nd one has a 2 hump M. I have always wondered why the difference. And especially here as these seem to be the same reference. My interest was piqued when I received my first Omeag a 14765 3 SC. It has the Seamaster script same as watch 2 here.

Most of these threads are actually only made in order to get @MSNWatch out of the woodwork and post pictures of his collection :D

    I also think it's not a redial.

@MSNWatch, those lugs are sharper! And the dial is awesome.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Aside from the fonts though, would the overall condition of the watch be worth the asking price of USD 680?

I'm seeing the seller this weekend to check the watch.

    Will update you guys!

I couldn't tell whether it's a good price or not but, apart from the bracelet, that is a really beautiful watch. It has aged nicely.

    Not with that "patina", IMHO.
