Hi, So I bought this watch at a secondhand store, but I now have some troubles with it. First of all the watch isn't running, the second viewer ticks forth and back. When I pull out the crown I can change the date in the first step, but in the second step when spinning the crown it wont change the time, why? :( This will be a gift for my mom, please help!

If you bought it in a second hand store, the odds are that it's been ignored and neglected for years. Stop fooling with it and get it to a watchmaker. Don't drop dead of a heart attack when you find out how much it will cost to fix it.

Hope it works out for you.

Damn, is it really that bad? Is there nothing I can do about it?

Regarding the "not able to change time part" can this problem be connected to that the battery is running low? Or would I still be able to change the time then?

A number of problems can cause the symptom of the hands not setting. For this watch to have ended up in a second-hand store, you almost have to know that a prior owner had checked in to having it repaired and was shocked at what he (or she) heard! The watch was retired! If you were to check the retail price of a new equivalent ladie's Omega Quartz watch, you might decide this one is worth fixing up. But be prepared to shell out! Have it checked out by a watch repair shop, NOT the watch repair counter at your local Wal-Mart!

The problem with the hands not setting has nothing whatsoever to do with a low battery! The problem can be one of a number of problems. Crown loose on the stem, a broken intermediate setting pinion, broken minute wheel post, broken teeth in the setting pinion, broken pilot on the stem, rust, broken teeth in the minute pinion assembly, or a combination of several similar problems.

Okay! Is there anyone who knows what the value of this watch is? Is it worth more than 50 USD? Cause I've gotten an offer to sell it.

If somebody is giving you $50 for a broken lady's quartz watch, take it.

You bought a broken watch you are not certain you want to have repaired! If you can sell it for more than you paid, you might decide to do it. If you can't sell it for more than you paid, what to do? Fix it and give as a gift, dump it at a loss, chuck it in a drawer for another day, give it as a gift, broken, or throw it out. Nobody here will be able to make the decision for you!
