Hi, I am looking for an Omega Seamaster Professional 300M (James Bond 1997-2006). Can I please ask what are the hallmarks of fakes of this model. What should I be looking out for.

Helium valve in the wrong position. Lume pip. Hands the wrong size. General wrongness of appearance. Google your question and you'll find lots of guides and comparison photos.

The date wheel can be a tell tale sign too. Look out for the gap between the DW and the dial!

The problem here is that most of these tells are completely relative - you can only know what's fake if you know what's not fake. The best thing you can do is to buy from a reputable seller or forum member, and then post pics here.

First thing to be aware of is that your dates are a bit out, the Bond SMP was available from 1993 - 2007 and then went co-ax. The Blake/Sword hands variant (same watch but different dial, hands and bezel) was around circa 1998-2007 in 2 main schemes (black and electric blue) and wasn't updated to co-ax, more fool Omega. There are also a few other rarer variants using titanium or gold for the case (or just bezel) and also the GMT variants in 2 dial colours too. In short, it is a big subject. Unless you are looking for a bog standard Bond 2531.80 I suggest you do your homework.

A convincing warranty card with the stamp of a reputable jeweller is hard to beat as it links the serial number to the sale.
