Sorry if this topic should be in "modern Omegas"?

My question is about the pre-Bond quartz Seamasters. I think I need one....

Prices just seems to be very inconsistent. From 500 -1.500 usd. Surely, the condition of the different watches is...well different. On Reddit, most sell for 500-600 usd. Chrono24 is waaaay more expensive. Is that just how it is? Never buy a watch at asking price on chrono24?

Yes, Chrono24 asking prices are typically way too high and not indicative of actual market value. A lot of times it will state they’re open to offers so you could try that.

I only use chrono24 as a refernce for prices. If i can get a watch with 30-40% less than chrono24 i think that it is possible to be a good deal.
I also notice that for the Semaster pre-Bond watches the prices can be found to a lower 600 Euro and to a higher 1500 Euro but this will only depend if the seller it's a person who just sell his vintage watch or if the seller it's a dealer.

There are two sizes — the smaller one is generally cheaper. Make sure you check the sizes before buying a cheap one and realizing it is too small. Also, these are tritium dials. Some are in really crappy shape with moldy or dark lume due to previous moisture intrusion. These should be less expensive. If the lume has a nice patina and is the larger size, then it will command a higher price.

and yes, the bracelet is not easily replaced by a strap. I have seen mods made online to make it work, but it is not trivial.

Actually I don't mind the 36mm. I tend to wear smallish watches, so either will do. The bracelet was the one thing holding me back....I would prefer normal lugs, but excessive Google searches of wrist-shots have made me lov....learnt to live with it .

I had my eye on one of these a while back, the bracelet was short for my wrist ,my thoughts were it would be tricky to obtain more links.

I recently got the quartz (small size) and it wears very good. Got a 19 cm wrist.
