Who cares about the readability of a luxury watch if it looks great?
I don't!
I have several watches that look fantastic but have poor readability. And I don't care one bit. It was never an argument for me to buy a watch.
If my focus was on good readability, then I would buy a cheap Casio. Maybe a digital one with backlighting. Or I would look at my cell phone.

So you are basically just wearing a jewelry bracelet with a lump on it?

Why not have both readability and great looks?

Because we all have our own personal tastes and preferences, and it makes the world a less boring place. It's not like the NTTD is completely unreadable. For some of us it's just that element of choosing a given watch might come slightly secondary to other factors (for me the look, bracelet, association, light weight, lack of date window etc). YVMV which is totally cool, but then you know this already 馃榾

The NTTD, coupled with buying my first IWC Pilot not long after, made me realize how much I prioritize dial readability.

Finally pulled the trigger on a used NTTD which arrived yesterday. Obviously on the honeymoon period but it鈥檚 a very nice watch, love the matte textured dial! Will wear it for a while on the Milanese before trying other bands got for it (Uncle Seiko 1450 Ti bracelet, Zealande NTTD rubber band and other Omega OEM 20 MM leather bands already own 馃槉 )

In terms of readability it does generates a lot of reflections (very hard to take a nice shot) but don鈥檛 think it is a deal breaker for me. Time will tell ! 馃榾

I am about to find out, waiting for my NTTD to arrive. The boutique called me about a 60th they got in unexpectedly, but I decided on the NTTD because I already have a blue diver 300.

Got it today. I agree that it's a little hard to read at some angles, but not a big deal.

New member here. Hi everyone. I adore this watch. I've had mine for a week now. This was a present to myself after an unpleasant divorce, and a very successful 2024 at work. It feels awesome on my wrist, and I think it looks absolutely gorgeous. It makes me feel good every time I look at it. This is a legacy watch I'll pass down to my son some day.

I actually sold mine because the metal strap just did not fit my small wrist and I hate the NATO and two piece tab and buckle straps.

I get you might not like it but way to go posting this three minutes after the guy who just sang its praises and said it鈥檚 going to be a legacy pass down watch.

Awesome for him, but didn't work out for me. And the FOIS v2 came out and I decided I wanted that one more.

Possibly just the nature of a bumped thread.

Congratulations! That's definitely a good watch to celebrate those milestones and a lovely watch to hand down.

I get it (sorta). I've never been through a divorce, but I have a watch that signifies something similar.

yo @morecoffee post some shots over here:

It is a special watch and I loved how it looked, it just did not fit me very well. Glad you love it.
