    Hello

Another two watches I found stored in one of my fathers deposit boxes.

How are those models called? Any indication on the production year?

And are they of interest in the omega vintage-world?

    Some hq pictures will follow.

    Any help kindly appreciated!

    Best regards

Can't see a thing from these photos.

Can you download them to your computer and then use the "Add Photos" button to upload the full size versions here?

I'm unsure of the first one, but the second has been redialled, I'm afraid. As a collector's item, that will detract heavily, which is a shame as a solid gold Omega is always worth a bit. The first one could be original and I'd guess that both are from a bit before1960 or so.

@gatorcpa, the pictures are links to a photo server where they are available in higher res.

I think they both may be original dials. Too much glare on the second one to see much.

Very early Omega Automatics sometimes have pointed "A" in Automatic.

Also, I think we need to see the case reference and caliber numbers from the inside of the watch to say anything at all.

The hands on the GC watch overreach the minute markers so presumably this is a redial. The Turler watch looks really nice.

What do you think about the thickness of the crosshairs?

Not necessarily. It could be that the hands were replaced or it was supposed to be like that.

That's why we need to know the case reference number.

Nothing. Again, dependent on the case reference. If I knew it, I'd look for other examples of the same reference with cross-hair dials.

There is no point in making judgments without have all the facts possible.

Don't mean to imply that I think it's a redial. I'm also in the it-may-not-be camp. I was just wondering about the crosshairs, they seem a tad thick.

That's going to vary depending on the model and sometimes even the contractor that made the dial for Omega. Without knowing the model, it's impossible to speculate either way.

Both dials are very original. The yellow one looks like a solid gold (not gold cap) ref. 2577/2520, and the steel one is 2577.

I'm a bit surprised that so many vouch for the dial on the golden Seamaster - aren't those crosshairs to thickly applied? I guess it just looks odd to me.

I would say both are original dials. Pretty sur of that for the Turler. Concerning the other one, it is true some lines and scripts seem a little heavy, but the overall impression is rather good.

That is my impression, but I won't argue against TNTwatch or Gator, who are more well-versed in this than I am :)
