Omega Seamaster Help

Hi. My name is Jorden, and I am curious about this watch my son found at my Mom's house recently. It was my father's, and the inscription on the back indicates that he got it for his high school graduation in 1957. We have looked all over the internet and can not find a similar-looking Seamaster. There is no serial number on the back, though there seem to be numbers scratched into the points where the band attaches. Also, it is stamped with 14K gold-filled L & K. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So its a pretty rough repainted dial, so you won't find anything identical because of it. For more information, you'd have to have the case back removed to see the serial on the movement (most jewelers have this abillity). I suspect it isn't an Omega cased watch (pretty common), so there isn't much we can tell from that.

I WILL say I haven't seen hour indices quite like that before, but it looks like early lume. Based on size/config, I'd bet it is an older bumper automatic though.

As noted, it's had a redial in the past and I suspect the gold plated "coffin" indices have had lume applied to them, some has come off.

The 14K GF case was made for Norman Morris Corporation (USA Omega agent at that time) by Lutringer & Kammerer of Long Island City NY.

I'm also with Erich on it being an early bumper caliber.
