I'm new to vintage omega and just acquired this Seamaster DeVille. Case model 166.020 and caliber 563. The serial # is 33XX so dates the watch 1971.
I was wondering if anyone could answer a question about the dial.
It has an unusual textured dial with onyx inset into the markers and there also sigma symbols on either side of the “swiss made” at 6.
Do you think the sigma dial means the dial markers are white gold? I know Rolex, Patek, and others used the sigma to indicate the use of gold on the dials in the early 70s.
I would appreciate any insight.
