Could we get a pic with the hands out of the way of the script and centred correctly.

The long tail R is unusual, but not impossible.

Unless the photo is distorted it seems to me that the word automatic is not centered below the word Omega.
    I would lean toward redial

Based on that photo (not square on and unobscured by hands) I'd say it's a redial for the reason @mollydooker pointed out. I know the red box is not perfectly aligned, but it's enough to see that the word is off centre.

The only other Seamaster script I've seen with the drop tail R like that had more of a droop to the bottom of the first S.
The blobby serifs on the E in Ville are also an indicator.

    Maybe @hoipolloi could offer comment?

I'm not convinced by the centering argument. Here's my Seamaster De Ville which I am confident is not a redial. Note the same positioning of the word Automatic.

I do however see why @JimInOz has reservations about the serifs and the script generally. The script on mine is different from OP's, more sanserif. All the same that dial looks so good and untouched that I'd still go for original. Mine is a linen dial and OP's isn't which is bound to make a difference to how the ink settles. It's also possible that different fonts were used for printing onto different surface textures.

Presuming they are right those who say it's a redial. I'm not totally convinced that it is. Not all Omega dials were 100 % perfect from the start.......

hi......i may of taken the photo a little askew..... this would be the reason why the box in red , shows it slightly out ..

I have no opinion on the watch above, but I see defects on modern Omega dials...there's no doubt that they are not all perfect coming from the factory...
