Hi Sandra. Before the "gruff" ones wake up I'll throw some advice your way. In order to get a worthwhile analysis from the fine folks on the forum you'll have to take it to a watchmaker and have him/her open the watch up so you can get the reference number. This is a monocoque case design, meaning that the mechanism is accessed through the front, via the crystal. Once you have the reference number a quick search of ebay will give you an idea of value. This particular Seamaster I believe is not greatly collectible so probably worth gold melt plus a small premium, maybe 20 percent. Dial does look original to me though.
