Hi all , I picked this up about 20 years ago for £ 31.00 with the box but no papers ,& wore it occasionally as a dress watch , unfortunately I dropped the watch & lost the bezel about 15 years ago . I really don't know anything about the watch apart from it's a Seamaster de ville . If anyone can help in helping me find a replacement bezel I would be very grateful . And any additional information regarding the reference would be really appreciated . image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

I would advise against sourcing a replacement bezel yourself. Rather, find reputable Omega-certified watchmakers in your area and ask around with them. They'll probably have replacement parts for SMDVs, and if not, will know where to get them for you. I suspect you haven't had your SMDV serviced in a very long time as well, so while you're at it you can have that done too.

Apart from the missing bezel, your SMDV looks to be in great condition, given its age. Wear it with pride!

Thank you for your reply . The watch as far as I know has never been serviced ,but set the quickest date & time this morning & it's only gained about 5 seconds . I don't even know what the movement is .

Cousins UK and Ofrie sell bezels for a lot of Omega models but you will need the case number which is inside the back of the case.

I believe the reference number is 166.020 for this model, and the caliber is probably a 563 or a 565 depending on where the watch was sold.

Thanks everyone for all your replies , I will definitely check out the bezel suggestions , I would have to take the watch to a pretty decent watchmaker ,for him to check what the reference & model number is for certain . As there is no caseback to remove , also I have no idea of value for the watch ,and thinking is the cost of sourcing the bezel & probable service worth it as I doubt I would wear it anyway .

Well, then you’ve pretty much answered your own questions ;)

Without a service and original bezel you could sell it for around £100.

Bezel is still available for this case ref. in yellow gold. Around $600 US.

Omega has no control over what Cousins can sell...only over what they can buy. This message means that Cousins do not have the bezel, and they cannot buy it. All third party parts resellers were cut off from purchasing Omega parts to resell at the end of 2015. Omega still sells parts directly to qualified watchmakers, without the middle man.

    Cheers, Al

Hi all , again thanks for the input & comments on sourcing a new bezel & a quick update on progress . Took the watch to a very reputable watch repairer today, & he basically said it was a parts watch & offered £80.00 for the watch & £20.00 for the inner & outer original omega box . Oh well, the search continues .

I agree and curiosity regarding the value of the watch has got the better of me, & using some of the information above I have googled the watch reference . And very interesting results on possible values but one for sale on Chrono 24 is going for ( below ), or around the 1 to 1.5K price range.

And mine is 18KT I think , so I'm now thinking it would well worth sourcing a new bezel .

Your SMDV is actually with 14K gold filled US case, so better source for 14K bezel.
