    Hi there,

i have an omega seamaster de ville, from 1966. Unfortunately, I scratched my glass.
It is still the original glass with Iomega logo in the center and flat.

My watch dealer told me that the new ones (OMEGA PX5072) are not so flat anymore, but 2-3mm higher than the old ones, is that right?

Do you know where I can get an original old glass?

    Many greetings from Stuttgart,

    Alex

I know Sternkreuz, but this is not original one?! Or does it have a Logo in the middle?

This Sternkreuz have no logo but should look like the original 5072 (not just a generic ATC Sternkreuz 316)

I would like to have my watch as original as possible, so the Sternkreuz would not be my first choice :)

Does anybody know if the height of 5.12mm is the original height from 1966?
    Regards Alex

You should ask your watch dealer as he seems to know all the details. ;)

BTW 2-3 mm is a HUGE difference in the height of a crystal...

If you really need to know this, then pop the existing crystal out and measure the height (or have your watchmaker do this) and I can pretty much guarantee you that it won't be 2-3 mm shorter than the current crystal is.

    Cheers, Al

Unless it's got a crack, any competent watchmaker should be able to polish out a scratch, even a deep one.
